A Bank Robber Attempted to Impersonate Paul Simon

[via New York Post]
A con man walks into a branch of Citibank on Broadway and West 86th Street in Manhattan and tried to take out $4,300 using Paul Simon’s name and bank account number. Sounds like the beginning of a joke, but nope, this is real. His name is Rafael Ramos, and he’s 54 years old. From the Post:
“The teller became suspicious after realizing the suspect is 10 inches taller and 14 years younger than the 5-foot-3, 68-year-old Simon. When she refused to give him the money, Ramos bolted, according to authorities.”
Apparently, Ramos was carrying a forged driver’s license and credit card with Simon’s name on them. He was to be charged for larceny, however, he told the cops he was depressed so they took him to the hospital instead.
