Free Download of Peter Gabriel’s Bon Iver Cover
by: Angela Zimmerman
By now, you’ve heard about Peter Gabriel’s forthcoming Scratch My Back, the album of covers on which he does renditions of songs by Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Paul Simon, Lou Reed, the Magnetic Fields, David Bowie, and Bon Iver, just to name a few. This collection of songs features only voice and orchestral accompaniment, and is produced by Bob Ezrin, who lent his skills to such legendary albums like Pink Floyd’s The Wall and Lou Reed’s Berlin.
Scratch My Back is due out on February 15th via Virgin Records, but to tide you over, Gabriel is offering a free download of his cover of Bon Iver’s “Flume” from 2007’s acclaimed For Emma, Forever Ago. The price of the download is your email address. Or, you can keep your email info to yourself and just listen to a stream of this very beautiful rendition of the song.
Stereogum has got the exclusive, as well as words from Gabriel about how much he digs Bon Iver’s music.
