PJ Harvey by Brian Birzer
by: Brian Birzer
SXSW, Austin TX
March 21, 2009
By Brian Birzer
The PJ Harvey photos I took on Saturday night, March 21st, in a lot of ways were the payoff for the week of chaos that was SXSW 2009. Typically after a week of sleep deprivation, substance depletion/abuse, and strained tolerance for hipsters, I usually have a sort of out-of-body experience as the last few hours roll in, and this year was no different. Polly Jean was a radiant being on the stage, and she really made the whole musical pilgrimage worth it. Rolling Stone and SXSWorld both ended up using this photo.
