Chhom Nimol from Dengue Fever by Brian Birzer
by: Brian Birzer
(and her dress collection)
Austin, TX
April 27, 2009
By Brian Birzer
Chhom Nimol is the singer of Los Angeles based Dengue Fever. With influences such as the Ventures, Charles Mingus, Blondie, and Os Mutantes, they have a retro sound that’s also really fun. This assignment was part of a series of artists and their collections. Nimol (as she is referred to) doesn’t speak a lot of English, but her manager pulled off the translation duties enough to help compose the shot with her vintage dress collection in the crowded hotel room.
