Dirty Projectors by Amanda Hatfield
by: Amanda Hatfield
July 19, 2009
Williamsburg Waterfront, Brooklyn, NY
By Amanda Hatfield
I was skeptical about how well Dirty Projectors’ gorgeous, complex vocal harmonies would carry over outdoors, standing under hot sunshine with a couple thousand Williamsburg hipsters at one of this summer’s pool parties. The verdict? They sounded better than they had any right to. Amber Coffman, Angel Deradoorian, and Hayle Deckle are also, collectively and separately, total eye-candy, particularly when backlit by the just-beginning-to-set sun.
