Rock Art Rock: Issue 3.24a
Britt Daniel of Spoon
Crystal Ballroom, Portland, OR
March 6, 2009
By Patrick Proctor
Spoon is a longtime favorite here at Hippies Are Dead, so we didn’t hesitate to make the trip up to Portland to check out one of the few live dates they played in 2009. We knew the band had been working on new material, and were hoping to catch a dose of the work in progress; we certainly weren’t disappointed. The band played an epic set that traversed their entire catalog, and brought their trademark live show to maximum levels. We think this shot perfectly captures Britt Daniel at his blood-on-the-sleeve best.
