Rock Art Rock: Issue 2.44a
Chris Walla of Death Cab for Cutie
Oracle Arena, Oakland, CA
December 11, 2008
By Paige K. Parsons
I’ve probably photographed Death Cab for Cutie more times than any other band. I’ve enjoyed watching their rise from obscure indie band to mainstream darlings over the past five years. This shot was from their most recent visit to the Bay Area, the annual Not So Silent Night concert. Chris is calm, focused, and introspective when he performs, and I think this image captures a bit of his focused calm.
