Blondie

No doubt that early Blondie was a definitively New York City band. But in this photograph captured by Michael Zagaris, they are cast among the light, color, and energy of San Francisco’s spacious Golden Gate Park. Though this setting is a far cry from the dark and smoky punk clubs to which they were accustomed in the emerging CBGB scene of Manhattan, they hold fast to their New York City cool in this shot—Debbie Harry smoldering in the foreground with the rest of the band vaguely blurred behind their vixen frontwoman.
