yep mind-blowing song. Check out “Underneath the stars” NYC concert on You Tube. Similar style and first song on new album, though they ruined it on album version with over production :(

Wonderful article on a frequently misunderstood period of Chilton’s career. I was at the Panther Burns’ 1980 gig at Danceteria that’s mentioned in the piece. I remember thinking they were a mess, but I had a great time nonetheless. Alex played from a corner in the back of the stage, giggling and smirking throughout the set. Calls from the crowd for “September Gurls” ended pretty quickly, as it became evident that it wasn’t going to be that kind of show.

I remember the shock of hearing “Bach’s Bottom” for the first time; I was never the same! I’ve always been an admirer of Alex’s deconstructivist tendencies, and his “Flies” and Panther Burns’ “Magnolia Curtain” are two of my all-time favorite LPs. Really enjoyed the article, and I’m a long-time fan of Gendelman’s too. Hey! Little Child!

I don’t like the album either, but this is the most childish writing I have ever seen. Get this frustrated comic away from the keyboard and back waiting in line at the open mic where he belongs.

Holy Baby Jesus! An astounding history of not only LX, but the Cramps and Tav Falco’s work.

    What a pleasure to read.
